Honolulu Hotel Industry Leader Rick Cho
Based in Honolulu, Rick Cho has overseen activities at Jupiter Group Holdings since launching the firm in 2000. He is also the chairman and chief executive officer of multiple investment and operating platforms under the Jupiter Group name, such as PacifiCap Group, Hawaii’s leading private equity firm, and Peninsula Real Estate Partners, leading financier with $500m in financings of hotel condos throughout the state between 2005-2007. Under his leadership, Jupiter's investment in Royal Gardens Hotel in Waikiki which was later sold to Wyndham in 2007 is considered the best performing hotel investment for 2nd half 2006 investment vintage in the entire country. Rick started Elia Hospitality in 2006 and launched Hotel La Croix, which was ranked as a top-four hotel in Oahu on tripadvisor, ahead of major brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons. Rick Cho also maintains leadership positions with Harvest AMC, a Seoul, Korea-based asset management company, and the hospitality, development, and management business Elia Hospitality.
Beyond leading Jupiter Group Holdings and related business platforms, Mr. Cho is a founding investor in Flyp and Iris Wireless, leaders in the communications sector. During his career, he has excelled in areas of commercial real estate and special-situations investing, as well as the oil and gas industry.
